In this unit, students will solve an area problem involving squares, rectangles and triangles that will lead to the proof of the Pythagorean Theorem. Students will also explore: the relationship squares play in determining the type of triangle; problem based tasks that require the pythagorean theorem; and, purposeful practices activities to strengthen their learning.
