I love the visual of dividing fractions. In a recent math PD with grades 3-5, creating a visual model for fractional division was the biggest hang up for teachers.

I know I’m not answering the prompt, but as I watched this, I thought back to my programming days with object-oriented programming (OOP). We used attributes and properties as well, with the same definitions.

Thanks, Kyle, I’ll take a closer look today and run it by my grade-level team. I gave them all a preview of the academy during a Zoom meeting yesterday and included my district’s secondary math director. I think a few signed up for a 30 day trial!

Thank you for sharing! We actually did that Desmos activity, which was great. I’m looking at recreating James Tanton’s older YouTube video for my students, where he looks at using the area model to show how multiplication of negative numbers works.
