I am all in on adopting the curiosity path but the teaching culture is dictated by how our teaching is evaluated. Currently, our district evaluates teachers using a model that grades using the I do, we do, you do phases of instruction. It is difficult to resist the messaging. I look forward to learning more on this journey to fight the tide.
Owch! That hurts for sure. However, I’d articulate what you’re up to as a “warm up activity” then use the consolidation as the “I do” part. As long as you can articulate what you’re doing, I think they will be happy. Maybe a talk before an evaluation too can go a long way.
