Summary:
Encourages educators to consider how well their learning tasks: focus on understanding big ideas in maths, extend mathematical thinking, connect mathematical representations, and connects to students’ funds of knowledge.
Looks at strategies vs algorithms, representations vs strategies, metacognitive processes for selecting a strategy (getting children to think about when and why to choose/use a certain strategy), different levels of cognitive engagement, defining mathematics identity and mathematical agency (and what to consider to have both in the classroom.)
Mentions respecting, including and exploring what students bring to the classroom (e.g., when someone uses a strategy learnt in their home country that is different to the ones presented in the class)

This was really helpful…how do we access the slides and drive files?

Links should be in the materials tab. If not there yet, @joris from our support team is working on this and they should be up soon!
