How do you get your students past the silent stares or “I don’t know” phase when you first start giving them the opportunity to notice, wonder, ask questions etc.? Many kids are used to waiting for the teacher or outgoing students to provide an answer and it’s not an easy habit to break.

Such a daunting stage to overcome! This is one of the biggest reasons for Sparking Curiosity through the Curiosity Path. By withholding information, students can’t “have the answer” and as we slowly work through estimates and then becoming more precise, students learn (over time) how to NOT rob the thinking of others.

Each of our units begins in this fashion – so definitely give them a closer look!
