For the remainder of the 2019/2020 school year, my goal is to have more “thriving” days than “barely scraping by” ones. And I’m going to be okay with “just” teaching kids the standard algorithm, knowing that they’ll be okay not having deeply-thought-provoking tasks each day while on Virtual Learning.
For the upcoming school year, I absolutely want to integrate more meaningful tasks into daily instruction. Along with that, I need to work on the transition from our PBIL tasks to what the math looks like. It’s always a clunky moment in the lesson as we jump from modeling a task to the step-by-step processes involved.
