    Old teacher; new tricks

    Hello! My name is Heidi Marschall. I supported math in small group and inclusion settings as a special educator for 15 years, but this year, I started teaching math classes for gifted 4th and 5th graders. It’s an exciting shift that comes with all the trepidation and planning that goes with now being in charge of my own lessons, following our district pacing guide, and (oh the humanity) being solely responsible for the math mastery of my charges. *Aaaaaaa!*

    I found this website and podcast in September and have been devouring as much as possible, and I’m working through Peter Liljedahl’s book for the 2nd time. I like to think of myself as being on the fast track to ending my own I do – we do – you do cycle, but I still have a lot to learn!

    Looking forward to more takeaways as I work on stifling my desire to try ALL THE THINGS!
