    Hi! 

    My name is Amanda. I am from North Carolina and I teach high school math, freshman and sophomore level. This is my first year teaching. I graduated from college in May with a degree in electrical engineering, so teaching is brand new to me. I am here because the school I teach in has very traditional math courses, I have been listening to this podcast and been getting great ideas about how to change my classes to drive engagement and learning. But as a new teacher, I am a little overwhelmed at how to accomplish all this, so I figured joining this academy would be a good place to start. I’m excited to learn more about math education.
