  • Missing Batteries [Day 1]

Posted by Kyle Pearce on May 11, 2021 at 3:01 pm

How do you plan to use this task?

After reviewing the Teacher Guide, do you still have any wonders or worries?

Once you’ve used the task, be sure to share what modifications you made either before or during the task and what you might do differently next time.

I am getting ready to use this task with my students. However, I noticed that in the “Spark” video, it does not show the image of the 10-pack with 2 batteries missing. Although in the teacher’s guide it says that that is the one students should be noticing and wondering about. I was just curious if that should be the case? Thanks for all you do.

There is a picture of the 8/10 full battery pack in the “sense making” section.

        Thanks for clarifying here!
The spark video intentionally shows the battery pack “straight on” so that you can’t see the second row behind it. Same pack, different perspective. This is the ‘knowledge gap’ we have intentionally created to help spark curiosity.
        Hope this helps!
