    My name is Michele Acobas

I am a veteran middle school math teacher. But the truth is, I’m not necessarily so good at math. There is so much that I don’t understand, and so much that I want to understand before I ask my kids, or show my kids how to do something.

I am very interested in problem based curriculum, where the students can make discoveries and then share out.

I’m hoping this site can help me develop lessons that lead the students on a discovery path

Welcome my friend! You’re not alone as there are so many educators out there – especially in the middle and high school grades – who “thought” they “got” math, but in reality are really just able to remember formulas and procedures. Truth is that there are still many concepts that Jon and I only recently realized that we don’t truly understand with any conceptual depth… and that’s ok! We are here to work together as a community to push our pedagogical practice forward and build our content knowledge over time. We’ve got this!
    Welcome to the community!
