Intro: Christa from Mexico
Hi! I’m Christa Amezcua, middleschool teacher from Mexico, author of the “textbook” series Mathematics Tiliches (available at teachertiliches.com)
One day I was teaching some geometry with the help of a laser level (like a laser pointer, though the ray is not a ray, but a plane). A student raised her hand, I thought she was asking something about cones or cylinders, but she asked: “Where do get so many Tiliches from?” Tiliches is just stuff, things that some people wouldn’t have at home or would consider as trash (No one imagines how courtain holders make so nice movable number lines).
I liked the name, so I call myself now Teacher Tiliches.
Right now, in Mexico, independently of the virus, we have a mess in our curriculums, as the government threw the last one to the trash and hasn’t come out with a new one. I see this as an opotunity to refine my books and maybe digitalize them ALL with DESMOS activities!
Thanks to Jon and Kyle for the opportunity to belong to the academy for a while.
