How much time is enough time
My biggest struggle is to respect student’s thinking time. I run a math study support class with students that have math gaps in middle school. My goal has been to close the gap as fast as possible. I spend a lot of time working on growth mindset and this year I want to build my curriculum only on math tasks (no more worksheets). But my question is how much time is enough for my students to work on a task. Some may go faster than others and I want to honor that too. How is that manageable in a class (there are only 8 students)?
