    I never thought of mathematics as political before. This has given me a lot to think about.

    It would have helped me understand this presentation better if the “slide guide” and “learning journal” that Hema Khodai refers to many times had been attached.

    Wow! Powerful. I wasn’t really listening at first, but then the word “microaggressions” caught my ear. One positive thing about remote learning is that I have felt I had the time to get to know my students more deeply.

    Relationship is important. When Hema said, “You can’t have a relationship with someone you don’t know,” she caught my attention. If we don’t have relationship with our students, how can we teach them effectively?
