I am the Director of Teaching & Learning at 4K-12 school district of 1700+ students in rural Hammond & Roberts, WI. My roles include overseeing Educator Effectiveness, Curriculum (review, adoption, implementation), Gifted & Talented Programming, Assessment Coordinator (standardized tests like ACT, ACCESS, etc.), Professional Development, and Staff Mentoring Program. Being a former math teacher, I appreciate the efforts of MMMM! My goal by becoming a member here is to support our 4K-12 math teaching staff to ensure our students receive great learning opportunities.

Welcome @nic-been We look forward to working with you! What would you say is the biggest “pebble in your teachers’ shoe” right now?

Fact Fluency…how to grow 4K-12 acceptance of a definition (it isn’t all about speed), how to measure, how to report, all within a standards-based grading and reporting system.

Fantastic. This is so important. We have a course called “fundamentals of math” that you might want to check out as you work towards plucking that pebble from your shoe.

What work have you / your district done so far in this area?
