    Who you are? Monica LaCelle

    Where are you? St. Johns Michigan

    What’s your role in education? I am currently the 5th-8th grade math coach for St. Johns Public Schools. I have only been in the position for 2 years but in my 19th year of teaching.

    What grade levels do you teach? Currently, with coaching, I work with 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th. 

    What’s your background? Prior to coaching, I was a classroom teacher in Ithaca Michigan. I have taught math, science, and art. In my past, I have taught 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th. I have my Bachelor of Science degree with a major in math and minor in physics. My Master of Arts degree is in curriculum and teaching. Both degrees are from Michigan State University. GO GREEN! 

    Why did you join the Making Math Moments Academy? I have really enjoyed listening to the Podcast, watching the webinars, and learning from you. As a teacher, I was always looking for ways to spark curiosity and try new things. As a coach, I hope to inspire others to do the same. I am hoping through the Academy I will find new ways of connecting math ideas, progressing through the grade levels, and connecting with a community of educators excited about math!
