    Hi everyone,

My name is Payal Tangri. I have been teaching Maths for more than a decade now. My formal education was in India and that is where I started my teaching career before moving to Australia in 2008. The beauty of Maths has always intrigued me and wish it is something we can focus on when teaching.

I have tried to push myself into learning new concepts and have followed Jo Boaler’s approach to teaching Maths.  It has been a hard experience implementing that and find it frustrating to keep getting back to the same routine of text book questions and endless exercises.

I am really looking forward to making a difference and gaining from this forum !

    Welcome Payal,

We look foreword to learning with you.

What would you say is the biggest challenge implementing the learning you’ve done with Jo’s book?

    Greetings Payal!

I just joined the academy as well.

I’ve recently read Jo Boaler’s Mathematical Mindsets book and she gives a lot of context and big ideas (and some research evidence to support them). I’ve been following Jon and Kyle for a while and they give tons of great advice about how to actually go about teaching through task.

I also look forward to learning with you and the community!
