    Getting parents/students on board

    While I still have a long way to go in my class, one of the biggest struggles I am having is helping both students and parents understand why I’m doing things differently.

    As a high school teacher, many of my studetns have learned how math in school works and have played the game for number of year. Requiring them to think and do things differently from either how they have found success in the past or how they think math in school should work has proven to be a difficult transition for some of them.
