As a math teacher coming up on her 20th year in the classroom, I’ll admit to winging it…probably why I am so tired at the end of the day…pre-planning should lead to more fun for all during the lesson…I need to remember this and learn how to really think through what might happen and where I need to get to!
Hi @regina-dill
This is a great epiphany to have. Although we can feel like we are saving time by not spending as much time in the planning phase, that time pays off big time. We also need to remember that planning isn’t just the time sitting at a desk or computer and “planning”, but rather reflecting and anticipating… in the car… on a walk… wherever. If we are thinking through our lessons, it almost acts like what athletes do before a competition where they visualize themselves performing.
