    District requirements

    I am struggling with how to incorporate all of the amazing ideas I have picked up from the podcast into my classroom while meeting my district requirements. For example, we are required to give 2 common formatives for every summative. We may create our formatives and summatives as a team, but I am currently the only team member using low floor high ceiling tasks so our common assessments tend to be traditional quizzes and tests. Unfortunately, we are also required to follow a curriculum map which outlines the order we teach and about how long each topic should take.

    Let’s say you could have a magic wand. What would you change? What would your class look like? How would it be different to what you’re doing now? Maybe only discuss a few changes?
