Hey Everyone.  I’m Dave and I teach in a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan located on the north shore of Lake Michigan.  I teach 8th Grade Math, Algebra, Practical Math, and PreCalc.  I’ve become very frustrated over the years at the lack of student engagement at me school and am continuously amazed at how little students are willing to use their brains and think!  I’m hoping to start to change all of this by building my lessons around this new framework Kyle and Jon have put together along with the help of all of you.  I made some adjustments to my classroom and teaching style this past year (with some success!) but want to take everything to the next level this summer as I prepare for next year.

Hi Dave! I just joined the community as well. 4 different classes sounds exhausting!

I’ve been following Jon and Kyle’s work and ideas since last November and their frameworks are really helpful. Let me know if you want another set of eyes on anything you create or plan to use in your classes. I tend to learn best through example and am curious to see how you might apply some ideas.

Good luck in your summer preparations! I’m in the thick of it myself.

That’s awesome man.  Would like to see some of your ideas if you are willing to share them.

Thanks guys.  I eventually would like to post some examples and ideas I have.  My wife and I just bought a new house last month, so things have been a little crazy lately.  Hopefully I will have some time to connect with you in between house projects as the summer unfolds!
