Brooklyn's Progress Log
I am a elementary learning coach and my goal is to support my teachers in achieving our school-wide goal. That goal is “Students will have a conceptual understanding of numbers and how to express them in different ways at grade level proficiency.” To that end, many of the teachers I work with have very low expectations of proficiency compared to what the core is asking to be grade level proficient. My goal is to increase teachers understanding of grade level expectations in NBT (K-2) and OA (3-5) and the progression of number sense from grades K-5. I will know I have successfully accomplish my goal when student’s can successfully complete a grade level assessment that meets the rigor laid out by the core with 80% accuracy. To accomplish this goal I have three 2 hour learning sessions for vertical teams to meet and do some vertical alignment and I will also be doing lesson studies with each team once a month.
