Beth Robertson's progress log
I don’t even know where to begin. The overall goal is to engage the students more in math. I have a hard time with these things:
– balancing the progress of students who have familiarity with the material (and can move quickly) with those students who are behind in foundational skills and aren’t really ready for this material yet.
– i want to use inquiry-based learning (like OUR) but don’t really have a good model for that. OUR is lacking in practice and it makes the parents very nervous. I love the ordering of the OUR concepts and think it is a great way to approach this content. I don’t have any practice materials linked to this order and have to find everything from scratch each time I start a new unit. I really feel this lack of continuity and I know the students do as well.
