All About Me (the cliff notes version)
Hello, I am Jenna Day. I currently reside in Bozeman, Montana where I teach 6th-8th grade math, Algebra one and 7th grade science in a small (but rapidly growing) independent school district. Our students are with us for grade K-8 and then feed into one of the largest high schools in the state, which can be quite a shock for some of them.
I have previously taught high school math in Delaware (from small group intensive instruction to AP Statistics and literally everything in between), as well as a K-5 one room school house in Colorado. I have enjoyed something about every grade level and could do without some things as well, but overall my 10 years in education have been wonderful.
Outside of school, I coach my other 2 passions… wrestling and softball. I enjoy spending time hiking with my husband and our 3 dogs or just laying in the hammock in the back yard with a good book while the fur babies run around the yard.
I am hoping to learn many different strategies to help my students get excited about math and enjoy the complexities and problem solving opportunities that math offers. I am also hoping to learn some strategies to help my students see “why this stuff matters”.
