    Used this lesson today with my intervention class (6th grade) to check their understanding of multiplication. Was thrilled when one of the greatest strugglers in the room explained that what we were really looking to find was the area in donuts, so if we had the information regarding the length and width, we could solve the problem. Other students excitedly supported this idea and a good day was had by all.
