    I look at rate reasoning when it helps me figure out what it would be for one unit, which what is used for slope which is what I teach. I would use ratio relationship to demonstrate how use the rate to get to a certain point, or how it relates to continue the pattern (forming the line).

    I will say in the rice problem I went to ratio relationship because I knew I didnt need to find the rate for 1.
