The audio feedback component is my best friend. Google Classroom works with an add-on called Mote. It allows instant audio feedback along with a transcription of the feedback. My students are really impressed by the quick turn around and personalized nature of the feedback.
My #1 takeaway is that I need to share with my colleagues, my commitment to portfolios. I totally agree that it adds another level of accountability.
One thing I wonder is…Do any of my colleagues, in or out of the Math program, already use portfolios? Is this an idea that should/could be brought up to the entire faculty? How much more efficient would it be if the students had multiple experiences with portfolios across various subjects, and though years?
