I have never thought to use a double number line but it would help so many students to understand linear relation content! I’ve seen many students struggle with linear relations and I believe it comes down to not believing the math. I think incorporating a double number line prior to building tables and graphs would help eliminate this problem. It would also lead to understanding where the rate of change comes from for a linear equation for the y=mx+b format.
