In watching this video, I realized that every time you asked us to create a model to represent the situation. I feel that is one thing that is lost in our teaching and were we need to focus more of our instruction. I state this because when showing the work in a visual manner it allows students to understand the material better because they can see the pattern and recognize. This also forces the student to come up with the formula and us not forcing it on them. One thing I will plan on doing more is asking students to create a model to demonstrate their thinking (having brainingcamp is a great resource for this approach).
