    I love the cookie monster task. I think this will be a good starting activity to do with my middle schoolers– 1 to demonstrate/experience a 3-act math task, 2 because it’s dealing with addition and subtraction, students will view it as a low-risk task because they feel more confident with adding and subtracting, and 3 to have students use multiple models to share and explain their thinking.
