This was a super helpful, simple explanation of Base 10.
I recently finished the Making Math Moments that Matter workshop, and am wondering if you use tasks to teach place value concepts or if there are other classroom routines that better support this.
For example, how would you turn a question like “how many tens are in 228?” into a curiosity-based task? Or what other instructional methods would you use to build that understanding with a class of students?
