This is such a tough question because there are SO MANY tasks I would love to do on the first day of school.
So while I’d be ensuring that I’m putting the Curiosity Path to use during all of my problem based lessons, I’m going to try to ensure the task we pick is SUPER low floor and offers a lot of opportunity for noticing, wondering, and making estimates.
This can definitely vary depending on the grade level, however I’ve used some tasks like Circumference vs. Height if working with circles in prior years has always come up…
Or something friendly like R2D2, which is really fun and can be accessed in many different ways.
I’m curious what tasks YOU (the community) would use?
Also, Patrick – what are you thinking about using?
