When students fail to give a unit in an obvious setting, I always respond with. ——elephants? They then quickly find the units.
However, I’m wondering if I should be requiring and thinking in units all the time. Answer may be 58 units, or 58 ones or 5.8 tens. It certainly makes it clearer and allows for reinforcement of PV, metric conversion etc.
How about 58 ones or 174 thirds?
