    My take away is to remember that doing something as simple as creating a number line that goes from 1 to 1 trillion and asking where 1 billion would be on that line ignites thinking. I also love the idea that starting with a number path in young grades is creating excellent number sense for making that eventual leap to the number line. I feel like this kind of lesson can fit in at any time of year to get students really awake and thinking.
