    I am really enjoying the way that you used place values to bridge the gap between fractions and decimals. In the brownie example, I like that you rearranged the portions of the brownie so that it was easy to see how the uneaten portion of brownies related to hundreds. I think it is so important to manipulate visuals in order to drive points home.

    I wonder about what happens when students start asking about fractions that don’t break into hundreds as easily (for example 1/6).

    I also wonder what other roadblocks come up when moving students from place value to decimals.
