    My big take away is how important magnitude is! Growing up I had large gaps in my education because my family was fairly transient. As an educator I am sort of re-learning those important skills that help foster number knowledge and why we need to promote those skills!

    Something I would like to transfer into my classroom is using number paths with fractions. In 3rd grade we introduce those landmark fractions such as 1/2, 1/4, etc. I have noticed that my students struggle with placing those landmark fractions on a number line and I would like to introduce that first on a number path before going to an abstract skill like a number line.
