I live in North Texas. My 55 year career started with teaching algebra & geometry in grades 9, 10 in 1962 – 5 years after Sputnik was launched. I’ve only taught 5 years in secondary math, but about 15 as an adjunct accounting professor (10 of those online). Becoming a single parent of 3 young kids and in heavy debt I left teaching to pay the bills. I’ve worked in accounting, then acquired an MBA and eventually at age 56 an EdD. Most of my career has been in the intersection of education and business. I recently started a math tutoring business, expecting to go to students’ homes. That will never happen, so I am moving the new business online. I have two interns, both graduating HS seniors math whizzes, going on to major in math and/or engineering in college They are really good at online homework help. and I am impressed.
