So I have been working super hard at tracking learning goals and interleaving. Class is great students are engaged and seem to be learning. Unfortunately, my administrator puts a great amount of pressure on state testing. I just gave them a quarter assessment and many of my students scores went down. My methods seem new and unresearched to my admin. He wants me to stick to a textbook, direct instruction and follow the unit lessons day by day. How can I advocate for this way if students aren’t testing to show that it works? Feeling really discouraged.
