Hi Steven – I don’t have answers but am along the same journey so perhaps we can brainstorm some potential ideas! I took the Making Math Moments that Matter Grass Roots Workshop in the spring and Jon outlined his Mastery days (I’m sure it’s also one of the mini-courses on here). My plan is to attempt a similar model. So once we week there will be an assessment that is based on that weeks learning as well as some previous weeks, it will be short, so once that’s complete they will work on a concept that they decide they still need to master or a concept that they would like to explore more. I haven’t quite figured out how I’m going to keep track and assess all of this just yet.
