    Hello! My name is Hallie Balcomb. As an educator of a new independent school in NW Arkansas (Thaden School), I have the daily delight of collaborating with faculty and students to create a balanced math curriculum that aligns with our mission. I currently teach Algebra I and Pre-Calculus. Throughout my career I have taught students from 7th to 12th grade, covering Pre-Algebra to Calculus BC.

    As we enter our third year of existence as a school, currently serving grades 6 through 11, we are working to set learning objectives across the disciplines that value depth over breadth and open our students eyes to the expansive world of mathematics. Tasks from Kyle & Jon’s blogs helped me facilitate some of the most successful math moments in my classroom when I started this journey at Thaden School. I look forward to connecting with educators to hear what works in their classrooms and best practices around building a vertically aligned curriculum.
