This video brought to mind the inspirational videos that I show students of Jo Boaler at the beginning of the year and one of them has the message that struggle grows your brain. She talks about it in a neurological way but your way comes as a way to engage students, make them become invested in the math and then be able to persevere. I do try this method as much as I can, but sometimes time just gets the better of me and I have to stick to my old ways. But, over the past 3 years that I have been teaching this flipped way, more and more of my lessons incorporate this way of planning. I will say, the more I teach this flipped way the easier it is to come up with ideas of how to do it. I do need to use more resources like the 3-Act Tasks.
