So glad that this idea resonates so well with you. I find that most classrooms I walk into have students who are very cautious to take a chance and think. This is something that we train students to default to when we pre-teach everything before they are given an opportunity to try. As we pre-teach less and ask students to solve more problems without “knowing the steps”, students can build their ability to engage in productive struggle.
