As a kid, my dad was a math teacher and he always said, “if you understand the fundamental concepts, you’ll never need to think about memorizing anything.” I think that this is so true but many kids miss the bus at some point and then they are forced to play catch up by memorizing. Sometimes, I think that these kids see math as something that requires memorization.
