    Multiplicative Thinking and Partitioning. Students this week were using tape diagrams to try to model task and on problems where they say things like we just saw in this task–you have some amount of juice and you are giving an equal amount to each of your 3 friends with some left over for you. So many students could not see it abstractly, or even modeled in the tape diagram. We wound up acting it out with pantomime glasses.

    I also think measuring needs a lot more practice.
