    I would say that for some of my students the getting out of multiplicative thinking is a hinderance. For others lack of fractional understanding hinders their understandings. Seeing how to connect fractional ideas with the double number lines and scaling in tandem will help me do a better job with giving students experiences they need to understand ratios and proportions better.
