    I would use the planting flowers task.

    I am starting to introduce the ratio concept and I would need to start with the very basic of ideas such as how to write and read a ratio. Then I think I could move into using this task with initial understandings of a ratio and how to scale using a double number line as my students will have little to no experience with these at all.

    I am wondering about using the linking cubes to have students be able to make the concrete number lines. I know I have students that will benefit from this. however, I haven’t been using manipulatives very much and I am wondering how much I will have to do to encourage the culture of manipulative use in my room.
