Spatial reasoning involves understanding the spatial relationships between objects.
I teach a unit on transformations, so spatial reasoning is really important for students to be able to rotate and dilate figures. Also, our middle school PLC is focusing on understanding story problems and I think your examples point to how important it is that we are able to understand what is being asked. In your examples, I automatically jumped to conclusions without even realizing that I didn’t understand the question! My students do this exact thing. I love these examples and am going to share them with my students.
