Wonderings now: First, I need to have a new start of year routine to reflect some of the changes that will need to happen in math class. I might even do a sample based on something from the previous year so that do have some idea of what is going on before presenting some of this years material. Second, I’m thinking no calculators, no Chromebooks and paper only for the start of class. I can make sure that I factor that in to the warm up and check ins that I do. Third, I definintely want to figure out what ways I can still do hands on while respecting the 3 feet social distancing as much as possible. I’m thinking I need to have labeled boxes / bags for each students and pass them out as they arrive and have them typically collected before the half way point. Of course it depends on what that means. Sometimes, they might need a protractor for the whole class. But they might not need thing thing from the warm up past 20 minutes into class.
