I agree that if you eliminate or minimize long tests that take an entire class period and the review day that precedes, there is time in the schedule for growth days.
One question:
How do you “weight” the gradebook. For instance, you give longer test to your senior classes? Do the longer test just provide more evidence for their portfolio? At the time of evaluation, how do you determine the letter grade and/or percentage grade the student earns?
