So far the big takeaway is what Jon said about making sure that every student has a positive experience, and following up on that every day, and showing students this through your actions in the classroom. I’m for sure going to add the 4 strategies mini-course to my growing list of courses to check out!
I have recently and will continue to try and really focus on my language with my students in the classroom and keeping it positive and asset-focused rather than deficit-focused.
I am going to reflect on how I can set up this class culture from the beginning of the year, and what I want that to look like for my students.
